WHAT TO EXPECT

I'm not going to heal you! You are going to heal you. However, I will facilitate a dynamic, compassionate container in which we will examine, untangle, and explore. We will co-construct a treatment plan at the beginning of our time together, because you deserve to know where your therapy is going. Because each client is so different, treatment is tailored to your specific needs.

I implement effective psychotherapy methods to instill self-understanding in my clients, and empower them to grow in places they've historically had to shrink. Therapy is an investment; while it isn't an overnight fix, most people find a positive change in mood, tangible skills, and behavior patterns with time.

FAQ

  • WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?

    • I practice in Northeast Los Angeles. At this time, I am offering in-person, COVID-friendly sessions at my office in Echo Park. I also hold virtual sessions for folks who would like to do therapy from home.

  • WHAT KIND OF THERAPY IS IT?

    • Since everyone is different, treatment will vary depending on what you want to work on. Take a look at the different approaches I use here. Any therapy we do together will be holistic, emotion focused, strengths based, and trauma informed. To schedule a consultation and see if my approaches match what you're looking for, click here.

  • WHAT WILL IT COST?

    • Sessions are generally $190/hour, though I always consider sliding scale rates on an as-needed basis. I do not currently work with insurance, but can provide you with a superbill to give to your insurance carrier for reimbursement.

  • HOW DO I GET THE MOST OUT OF THERAPY?

    • There are so many reasons why people pursue therapy, and the range of benefits are wide! Here are a few steps you can take to optimize your time in therapy:

      • Invest in your sessions. Take notes, ask for homework, and try to apply what you learn in between sessions.

      • Be patient with yourself. Remember that therapy is not an immediate fix, and that you need to give your brain and body time to heal!

      • Make sure your therapist is a good fit for YOU and your needs. I can't stress this one enough. Because this work is so personal, the therapeutic relationship is as important as any modality used. You deserve to work with a therapist that you feel comfortable around, mesh well with, and feel heard by. Check out this article for some tips to keep in mind during your therapist search.

  • WHAT'S AN LCSW?

    • "LCSW" stands for "Licensed Clinical Social Worker." LCSWs have a master's degree in social work, have completed thousands of supervised hours of therapy and other training, and have taken both a Law and Ethics and Licensing Exam. LCSWs are not only trained in psychology and matters of the mind, but also the systems and intersections that affect the whole person's wellbeing.
